Mata Ortiz pottery is a craft style, mainly vessels and pots, started by Juan Quezada Celado in the village of Juan Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua. It draws inspiration from the Oasisamerican pottery of the Casas Grandes (Paquimé) archaeological site, and over four decades it has become a highly regarded craft style, shown in art galleries and celebrated internationally. Today more than 300 artisans make this pottery in Mata Ortiz.
