About the artist:
Claudio Isaac was a Mexican writer, visual artist and filmmaker, born on April 25, 1957, in Mexico City. The son of filmmaker, cartoonist and Olympic swimmer Alberto Isaac, Claudio grew up among his father's many friends, including celebrities such as Luis Buñuel, Leonora Carrington, José Luis Cuevas and Gabriel García Márquez. The author of several novels, essays and memoirs, such as Luis Buñuel: A mediodía and Cenizas de mi padre, Isaac made his directing debut with Crónica íntima (1976). He went on to build a career in documentary film, with the short documentaries Guadalupe Amor: un caso mitológico (1980), Algo sobre Jaime Sabines (1980) and Octavio Paz, el lenguaje de los árboles (1983), as well as the documentary series Vida y obra de Octavio Paz and Comer y contar (2014). More recently, he presented his first feature-length documentary, Sin Dios y sin diablo (2017), one of the films entered for the 61st Ariel Awards.
